"Safeguarding Children is everyone's responsibility".

Children and young people in Wigan can only be safe if families, communities and professionals work together to promote their welfare. The Children Act 2004 requires all English local authorities with children's services to establish Local Safeguarding Children's Boards.

Here in Wigan we have set up the Wigan Safeguarding Children Board (WSCB) which will deal with improving both safeguards for children and their overall well being and is part of the Children and Young People's Services run by the Council.
