Trust appoints Director of Corporate & Commercial Development

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust is delighted to announce that we have appointed Miss Rachel Duckett to the post of Director of Corporate & Commercial Development. Rachel was an exceptional and outstanding candidate who was appointed after a lengthy and rigorous selection process.

Rachel joins us from NHS North West where she has been Head of Foundation Trust Delivery responsible for the development of Foundation Trusts, managing the Foundation Trust application process and relationships with Monitor and the Department of Health.

With a background in law, Rachel is also a qualified accountant and has previous experience working in both the public and private sectors; which will be invaluable to the Trust.
 
Rachel says, “I am thrilled to join the Trust. I am looking forward enormously to working with all the teams across the Trust.”

Andrew Foster, Chief Executive says: “I am very pleased that we have been able to recruit Rachel to the new post of Director of Corporate and Commercial Development. She will be leading our Foundation Trust Application, overseeing all of our corporate governance, communcating and promoting our services, and leading on all of our commercial dealings.  The Trust faces many new and exciting challenges, not least its Foundation Trust application and her highly relevant experience and expertise will be invaluable to us. Rachel will be a great asset to us and I am very much looking forward to welcoming her.”

The Director of Corporate & Commercial Development is a member of the Trust Board and is responsible to the Chief Executive for the provision of strategic and business development, ensuring that the Trust develops its services in response to the needs of its customers. The role involves leading the Trust’s Foundation Trust Application, overseeing all of our corporate governance, communicating and promoting our services, and leading on all of our commercial dealings.
