Public Advice on Swine Flu - Business as Usual

The most important way the public can help limit to spread of any infection – including flu viruses – is to follow good hygiene rules.  Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing and sneezing and then dispose of the tissue and wash your hands regularly.

If you are suffering from flu-like symptoms, please do not go to your doctor or to the Accident and Emergency department.  You will risk spreading the virus to others.  Stay at home and get advice by phone from your doctor or from NHS Direct on 0845 4647.
