The Trust Board has reviewed and extended its present MRSA Elective Screening arrangements to be inclusive of all elective and all emergency admission patients.

The Trust has ensured that it has mechanisms in place and has allocated resources to ensure that compliance and monitoring processes are in place. These include:-

  • The Trust has published the Statement of Declaration, MRSA Screening Policy and MRSA guidelines on the Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust Internet home page for the availability of the general public
  • Compliance with the MRSA Screening Policy and MRSA guidelines will be monitored on a monthly base via the Department of Health - MRSA Screening Return Form to the SHA and the Bi-Monthly Infection Prevention and Control Committee and Trust Board
  • The Trust will ensure that “Compliance Rates” with the MRSA Screening Policy and MRSA guidelines are fully published within the Public arena via the Trust Director of Prevention and Control Annual Report
