Care Quality Commission Certificate of Registration

Nerwdsate: 11th June 2010

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the new independent health and social care regulator for England. It replaced the Healthcare Commission, the Commission for Social Care Inspection and the Mental Health Act Commission in April 2009.
Their aim is to make sure better care is provided for everyone, whether that’s in hospital, in care homes, in people’s own homes, or elsewhere.

All references on this website to the 'Healthcare Commission or HCC' is a reference to the Healthcare Commission up until 31 March 2009 and to the Care Quality Commission from 1 April 2009.

Under the regulation of the CQC, organisations are required to be registered. Within this, there are different classes of registration. Trusts can be "registered", "registered with conditions" and "not registered".
