Trophy Treat for Rainbow Ward

Newsdate: October 27th 2010

Children and staff on Rainbow Ward, at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wigan, were treated to the visit of the Super League trophy on Tuesday 26th October.

Along with the trophy, was Max, the club’s official mascot, who was on hand to pose for photographs, with the children.

Staff members also got the chance to have their photographs snapped with the prestigious silverware, just three weeks after Wigan Warriors were crowned the champions of 2010, after beating St. Helens 22-10 at Old Trafford.

Mike Watson, Community Foundation Manager for Wigan Warriors, said, “It is always a pleasure to come to the hospital, especially Rainbow Ward, and to visit the children. If we can put a smile on the kids faces, by giving them the opportunity to hold the trophy, and have their photo with it, then it is very worthwhile.”
