Hospital Telephone System Maintenance

Newsdate: 25th May 2011

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust (WWL) is planning essential maintenance to our telephone system on the evening of Wednesday 25 May between 8:45pm and 01:30am on Thursday 26 May.

During this time there may be intermittent short periods lasting 15 minutes when the Trust telephone system will be closed down and will not be working as normal. We will not be able to receive or make any telephone calls during these short periods. We are asking the public to be patient and to call back after 15 minutes if they do not get an answer.

Mobile telephones and radio systems will be in use within key clinical areas of our hospitals during the telephone system maintenance to ensure essential communications can be maintained. The timing of the maintenance has been chosen to cause minimum disruption for patients, visitors and staff.

The maintenance work is to correct a telephone problem being experienced at the Thomas Linacre Centre. People calling our hospitals may have noticed it is taking longer than normal for calls to be answered. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We ask for everyone’s ongoing support and patience whilst the problem is resolved.
