We are delighted to announce that the Children’s Outpatient Department is moving from the Hawthorns on the Wigan Infirmary site to the Thomas Linacre Centre (TLC), near Wigan town centre. This move is expected to take place late Spring 2013.
Children and families across the Borough will benefit from this fantastic, modern, purpose built facility, which is located close to Mesnes Park. The environment will be much improved and made more child friendly. In addition, all children’s outpatients appointments whatever the speciality, will have the opportunity of being treated by our team of dedicated paediatric clinical staff.
Whilst the TLC is being reconfigured and redesigned, to accommodate the new £1.2m facility, some disruption is expected and patients may be seen in a different clinic area to usual. If in doubt patients can check where to go at the help desk on arrival, our friendly staff will be happy to help and direct patients and visitors to the appropriate clinic area.
We apologise in advance for any inconvenience and ask our patients and visitors to bear with us while construction of this wonderful new facility is completed.
