Warriors stars, took time out to donate selection boxes and spend some time with the children on the ward.

The players took a break from their tough training regime to chat with children, parents and staff, sign autographs and give each child a gift.

Janine Stott, Play Specialist at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust said: “We are delighted that Wigan Warriors players made the effort to come and visit the children during the festive period.

“Being in hospital at Christmas can be a particularly difficult time for a child, so we do our best to ensure that we make it special.

“Visits like this are a perfect way of putting a smile on the faces of the kids and helping to take their mind off being poorly for a little while. We are so grateful to the players for thinking of the children.”

Dominic Crosby, Prop Forward for Wigan Warriors said: “It is a privilege and an honour to come and spend time with the children on the ward. We hope that this experience has brought some festivity to the ward this Christmas time.”
