Newsdate: 6 June 2014

Between 1 and 7 June, voluntary organisations and hospitals across the country hosted events to celebrate the valuable contributions made by volunteers.

For Volunteers’ Week 2014, Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust (WWL) has organised events at hospitals across the Borough to give visitors more information about the Trust’s new Volunteer Strategy and Voluntary Services.

Visitors learnt about the new Volunteer Strategy. WWL Interim Voluntary Services Manager, Nadia Koriba and hospital volunteers were on hand to provide information and answer any questions at events held around the Trust.

Interim Voluntary Services Manager, Nadia Koriba says: “We are very excited about the launch of our new Volunteer Strategy. The strategy is a three-year plan to develop and improve each hospital’s Voluntary Services, including the creation of our new student volunteer programme, new roles and growth in volunteer recruitment.”
