Hospital holds first Memorial Service for patients who have recently passed away

Newsdate: 7 November 2014

WWL’s Chaplaincy & Spiritual Care Department and the Three Wishes Hospital Charity have invited friends and relatives of patients to a service for those who have recently died at Wigan Infirmary.
The ceremony is for the bereaved to share in the remembrance and celebration of the of their loved ones.

As we approach the festive season, we recognise what a difficult time this can be if you are bereaved of someone you loved or cared for.

The “Time to Remember” Service gives people the opportunity to celebrate and remember those people in a special way, by dedicating stars on our tree and lighting individual candles at the event.

Staff and volunteers, some of who have cared for the dying, will attend to offer their condolences.

Friends and family will also have the opportunity to record a dedication in the Book of Remembrance which will be on display in the Hospital Chapel.

The congregation will be joined by the Three Wishes Choir and refreshments will be available after the Service where staff from Chaplaincy & Spiritual Care and Bereavement Care will be on hand to offer support.

The Service will be held on Wednesday 19th November at 6.30pm at Wigan Sports Club (formally known as Wigan Cricket Club) Bull Hey, Parsons Walk, Wigan, in the Pavilion Suite.

The Service is open to everyone, to those of all faiths and none.
