Newsdate: 23 April 2018

royal_babiesAs the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcome their new addition, families at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wigan, were also adding to their brood.

Among the new arrivals on the hospital’s maternity ward were Max Joseph Richardson, who arrived the closest to the royal baby, and the as-yet-to-be-named, Miss Hewitt, who both arrived on the same day as the fifth in line to the throne.

Michael Richardson, from Springfield, said: “My wife, Laura, came in to be induced on Sunday afternoon and things just progressed from there. Max Joseph was born at 11.06 on April 23 weighing 7lb 8oz.

“His big brother Jacob is made up to be a big brother and he can’t wait to meet him.”

Baby Girl Hewitt, a daughter for James and Tonianne Hewitt from Whelley, arrived at 10.30am on April 23 weighing 7lb 13oz, a baby sister for Douglas.

“She’s absolutely beautiful and has completed our family,” said dad, James, “her mum had her by caesarean section this morning and I’m just so proud; she did fantastic.”
