Great Summer Event

Three Wishes will be having a busy summer with many supporters holding fundraising events.

Dave and Alison Chadwick, and long standing fundraising and hospital volunteer Pauline Carr, are organising the inaugural Geoff Carr Memorial Event on Saturday 22 August 2015. The event is in memory of Pauline’s husband, who died tragically last year.

The memorial event will see riders, walkers and Ironmen trek from Aintree to Standish. Walkers and cyclists will cover a distance of 23 miles – mainly along canal paths. Competitors taking up the Ironman challenge will cycle 20 miles, kayak 3 miles along the canal then, complete a gruelling 3 mile hill run to the finish line.

During the day, and in support of the event, The Charnley Arms will hold a Family Fun Day with various stalls and attractions to await the competitors on their arrival. Everyone will be greeted at the finish line by displays of emergency service vehicles, donkey rides, bouncy castle, and more providing a real sense of family fun and community spirit.
