Dr Stewart can be reached via her secretary most of the week.  She is happy to provide telephone or written advice to GPs and patients. 

Background:


Dr Stewart graduated from Glasgow University in 1980 and started her training in Dermatology there.  After a brief time as a job share partner in General Practice she completed her Dermatology training in Reading and Oxford and was appointed Consultant Dermatologist at WWL in November 1996.

Dr Stewart is the skin cancer lead for the Trust and a member of both the Greater Manchester and Cheshire and Merseyside skin cancer networks. 

Dr Stewart works closely with the community tissue viability team and the monthly leg ulcer clinic is a joint clinic. 

She is committed to teaching Dermatology to all and is involved with medical students (placement, curriculum development, lectures and clinic teaching), GP trainees (two innovative posts rotate through Dermatology each six months), GPs (teach and treat evenings), the RCGP Dermatology course (Chorley) and SpRs (educational and clinical supervision).

She is a past chair of the British Association of Dermatologists SAS sub committee (formerly NCCG sub committee) and past committee member of the North of England Dermatology Society.  She has served on several advisory boards.
