Background:


Anthony completed his basic and higher surgical training in Manchester Hospitals. He was trained as a Senior Registrar in General Surgery subspecialty Coloproctology and Gastrointestinal Surgery at Salford Royal, Manchester Royal Infirmary, Christie and Withington Hospitals. He was appointed Consultant General Surgery at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in January 1993. He has been Clinical Director of Surgery at WWL since 1999 and also Clinical Director of Cancer Services/Cancer Lead Clinician since 2005.

Anthony provides Colorectal and General Surgery Services. All suspected Colorectal cancer referrals are seen within two weeks and the Colorectal Unit constantly achieves near 100% with all access targets. He is the Chairman/ Clinical Lead of the Network Colorectal Cancer Site Specific Group of the Greater Manchester and Cheshire Cancer Network.

Anthony has several publications/abstracts in the medical literature and has presented many papers at scientific meetings.  He is a reviewer for the National Cancer Peer Review Program. His hobbies include travelling.
