A generous donation made to WWL respiratory team

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust have had a kind hearted donation in memory of a Wigan woman, who died earlier this year.

Two nebuliser machines were bought from the money raised by the late Susan Wilson’ family and friends.

Susan, 67, from Marsh Green, Wigan, was given treatment for pulmonary fibrosis under the care of WWL for several years but passed away at the end of April, this year. She was survived by Susan’s partner, Les, as well as her children, Dawn, Stephen, Michelle and Lisa.

Her funeral was held on the 14th May 2019 at Wigan Crematorium, where Les and Dawn, asked for a small donation instead of flowers to show their appreciation to WWL for the care and treatment Susan received.

In total, £140 was raised by family and friends.

Sandra Dermott, WWL Respiratory Nurse, suggested they buy two new nebuliser machines, with the money donated by Susan’s loved ones.

Sandra said: “These nebuliser machines will enable us to continue to help our respiratory patients in the future”.

“It is such a lovely gesture from Susan’s family and we really appreciate all the money that was donated.”
