The Trust has both fixed term opportunities and unpaid volunteering and available for start within the next two weeks or sooner where possible. [Please click on current vacancies and click on the 'Support Services' or 'Volunteers' tabs for a list of the opportunities available.]

In considering the opportunities please note that hospital services are 24/7 and there may be a requirement for you to work unsocial hours, evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.


To be considered for fixed term opportunities (of up to 6 months) at standard NHS rates of pay you must be available to commit to contracted hours of work to meet the Trust service needs.

Opportunities available are:
· Electricians
· Plumbers
· Fitters
· Carpenters/Joiners
· Medical Engineering Technicians
· Domestic Assistants
· Drivers
· Porters
· Catering Assistants
· Switchboard Operators

Relevant Training and an induction will be provided upon commencement.

However, if you have any of the following underlying medical conditions you will not be able to make application for any of the opportunities in line with Public Health England (PHE) guidance:
· Chronic lung disease
· Chronic heart disease
· Chronic kidney disease
· Chronic liver disease
· Chronic neurological disease
· Immunosuppression (whether caused by disease or treatment)
· Diabetes mellitus
· You have required regular medical treatment for their asthma within the past three years.
· You are pregnant
· You are aged 70 years and older

If you do not have any of the above underlying medical conditions you will still be required to complete an Occupational Health assessment prior to being offered an opportunity.
