Oncology Research Team Recognised for Role in Recruiting Patients to Clinical Study

Our Oncology Research team at WWL have recently been congratulated by the OPTIMA (Optimal Personalised Treatment of breast cancer using Multiparameter Analysis) Study Team at University College London for their role in helping OPTIMA reach 3,000 participants.

OPTIMA is a patient driven clinical study for people with hormone sensitive early breast cancer and aims to improve the way decisions are made about who is offered chemotherapy following surgery.

A big congratulations was sent to Dr Rahul Peck and the whole Research Team at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary as they recruited the 3000th patient to the OPTIMA study.

Alison Robinson, Head of Research at WWL joined in the celebrations as she said: "The Oncology Research Team are so committed to their role, ensuring all their patients get access to relevant studies.

"This particular study has done really well achieving 3000 patients so far and it is wonderful to celebrate our involvement in that.

"This is just another example of  the dedication of the team and their focus on our patients, well done!"

Patients have been recruited at hospitals across the UK, Norway and Sweden. Click here to learn more about the OPTIMA study.
