I graduated from the Armed Forces Medical College, Poona in 1970. I trained in general surgery at the postgraduate institute of medical education and surgery, Chandigarh and took my MS (Master of Surgery) in 1975. I then trained in plastic surgery under Professor Balakrishan at the same institute.
Background
I was admitted to the national academy of medical sciences in 1979. I undertook further training as a registrar in Edinburgh and at the famous plastic surgery centre at East Grinstead as a senior registrar. I completed my training under the renowned Dr Ralph Millard in Miami, Forida. USA
Experience
I returned to India to take up an appointment as associate professor & head of plastic surgery at the Jawharial Institute of Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry. I then went to St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, initially as a research fellow and subsequently joined their staff
Personal Profile
I am a keen cricketer. I represented my university at cricket. I still have a keen interest in sport, playing tennis. My other interests are photography. I am married with one daughter who is a Doctor in Melbourne, Australia. I visit India frequently to carry out plastic surgery.
