How are we doing? 2023-24

WWL want you, our service users and local community to have a say on our equality and inclusion work for our Maternity Unit at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary / Community Learning Disability Service and Fertility Fusion Service at Wrightington Hospital.

You are invited to join us at any of our Service Equality Engagement Events in January 2024 (please see below the three services and dates).

Maternity Unit                                 Tuesday 23rd January 2024        6.00pm - 7.30pm          Hindley Nursery School

Community Learning Disability  Thursday 25th January 2024      6.00pm - 7.30pm         Postgraduate Centre,

                                                                                                                                                              Leigh Infirmary

Fertility Fusion Service                  Tuesday 30th January 2024       6.00pm - 7.30pm          Wrightington Hospital

These are free events and open to all service users and the public. – We are especially interested to hear from those who have a protected characteristic as defined by the Equality Act (age, sex, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief, gender re-assignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity).

Be part of the conversation.  Come along to discuss, evaluate, and have a say on our equality and inclusion work.  Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are committed to improving the way services are offered to all people within the community, but also looking at how we get it right for everyone.

The main things you will help us to do if you attend one of our events are:

Look at information, to show how the service is treating everyone.

  • Do all patients have access to the service?
  • Are all patient’s health needs being met?
  • Are all patients free from harm?
  • Are all patients reporting positive experiences?

Decide how well the service is treating everyone

Give us scores to show how well we are doing.

Decide what we need to do next
