Public Sector Trainee Programme
Public Sector trainee programme (Traineeship)
The Public Sector Trainee programme is an education and training programme delivered and designed for 16-24 year olds. This programme will allow individuals to gain invaluable experience of working for the Public Sector, either in an administrative or health and social care role, depending on the placements available.
Learners will attend college throughout the programme, twice a week and will work towards the following skills:
Employability Skills – Level 1.
Young Person’s Health Champion – Level 2.
English and Maths Functional Skills up to Level 2.
IDEA – Duke of York Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award.
Placements will include:

Minimum 100 hours to a maximum of 240 hours placement.

Over a maximum of 6 months on a placement over 2/3 days a week.

Learners will be allocated a supervisor and a buddy as they are supernumerary staff and will need to work under supervision.
This approach enables the learner to develop skills and behaviours which will give them the confidence to apply for an apprenticeship or employment positions.
Learners must:

Be aged 16 – 24 years old.

Work 16 hours or less paid work, have little or no work experience and be focused on work or the prospect of it.

Not possess qualifications that are higher than Level 2.

Be ready to work towards employment or an apprenticeship.
