What Not to Bring With You

Mobile telephones (cellphones) must be switched off, as they can interfere with emergency equipment

  • Please do not bring any food (or alcohol) into hospital, nor should relatives bring any food (or alcohol) for you during your stay. This is because it is impossible to keep food at the correct temperature on a ward and therefore there is a risk of food poisoning.

  • Try not to bring electrical items into the Hospital. If you feel you need items such as hairdryers or curling tongs, you will need to provide an up-to-date electrical safety certificate, and on arrival at the Hospital inform the ward sister or other nurse in charge.

The Hospital reserves the right to refuse to let patients use equipment that does not have a valid certificate.
