Estates and Facilities colleagues at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WWL) have been recognised at a special celebration event, to mark Estates and Facilities Day (Wednesday 17th June).
Estates and Facilities encompasses the management, maintenance, and strategic oversight of WWL’s buildings, grounds, engineering systems, and support services, to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-focused healthcare.
These colleagues and departments are usually working quietly behind the scenes, making sure services across WWL run smoothly and with patient care at the heart of everything we do.
Tabitha Gardner, Chief Finance Officer and Estates and Facilities Lead, said: “We have some magnificent colleagues across WWL, and every member of our Estates and Facilities division deserves recognition for their hard work. We wouldn’t be able to run our services across the Trust without them, and I’m glad we can celebrate everything they do.
“Mary Fleming, Chief Executive, and Dame Robina Shah, Chair, also gave our Estates and Facilities colleagues a special mention in the Executive Board, to thank them for the incredible service they provide across the Trust. Thank you to all of the companies who also sponsored the awards for us, so the event came at no cost to the Trust, and I hope everyone enjoyed celebrating Estates and Facilities Day.”
The breadth of skills and departments at WWL include Catering, Domestic Services, Portering, Fire Safety, General Office, Community Support, Operational Estates, Sterile Services Decontamination Unit (SSDU), Linen Services, Switchboard, Sustainability, Waste Management, and Capital Estates, to name just a few.
