David also undertakes general radiological duties, including plain film reporting, ultrasound, CT, screening procedures.

David is on the Specialist Register as a Clinical Radiologist. He has worked as a Consultant Radiologist at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust since 1994. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Edge Hill University.
Since his appointment, David has developed his special interest in musculoskeletal radiology and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and has developed newer scanning techniques (MRI, CT and Ultrasound) in the areas of orthopaedic and sports imaging. With a team of musculoskeletal radiologists he supports the orthopaedic surgeons and rheumatologists in the Trust including the specialist services at Wrightington Hospital.
David lectures and teaches regularly in the Trust, mainly in musculoskeletal radiology to junior radiologists and other junior doctors and leads the radiology teaching for the MCh/MD courses run by the Trust and Edge Hill University.
