After completing his specialist training in Cambridge and Norwich, Tarek moved to Wigan in 2002 as a consultant in rehabilitation medicine. He specialises in the long-term management of most neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, brain and spinal injuries.
Tarek provides consultant input to Wigan and Bolton residents. He also supports the community neurological rehabilitation teams in both Wigan and Bolton. He is the clinical lead for the CFS/ME service in Wigan, Bolton and Bury.
Tarek is The Royal College of Physicians regional advisor. He served as the training programme director for the Speciality (Northwest Deanery) and joint head of service for North West Assistive Technology (Liverpool).
