Representatives from WWL, Wigan Council, Wigan and Leigh College, Greenmount Projects and Daffodils Dreams launching the 2022 Christmas Appeal.

This year, Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WWL) is partnering with Wigan Borough-wide colleagues to give children a brighter Christmas by asking for donations for toys, food hampers and selection boxes for delivery on Christmas Eve.

Alongside, Wigan Council, Wigan and Leigh College, Greenmount Projects and Daffodils Dreams, WWL staff are supporting this year’s Christmas appeal to help bring a bit of much needed joy to families across the borough.

Many of the donations will be hand delivered to families identified by the charity Daffodils Dreams and WWL is supporting the appeal by donating to the Borough’s young care leavers.

Silas Nicholls, WWL CEO said: “I am very proud to join with our partners and support this brilliant cause to help support families across the borough, I’m sure all my colleagues at WWL will do what they can to donate to those in need this Christmas.”

Staff can drop off donations at General Offices across all WWL sites. Gifts will also be gratefully received in the Safeguarding Service Office (1st floor of Christopher Home) and at the Children in Care Health Team Office (1st floor of Claire House).

This year, WWL is looking to focus on gifts for teenagers in particular, children in care and care leavers. Some of the gifts that would be helpful could include:

  • Gift Card for Clothes Store/Supermarket
  • PJ’s
  • Socks
  • Toiletries
  • Crafts (Adult colouring books/diamond art etc)
  • Chocolates/Biscuits

There is also a small Amazon Wishlist that you can donate directly to the Children In Care Team available here.
