Join ‘Team Three Wishes’ at This Year’s Run Wigan Festival

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WWL) is calling on its local community to put on their running shoes and join something truly special to raise vital funds for its Three Wishes charity.

This year’s Run Wigan Festival, taking place on Sunday 15th March, is the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself while making a real difference for patients and families across our hospitals.

Whether you tackle the Half Marathon, 5k, or the Family Mile, every pound raised will go directly to Three Wishes Charity, supporting projects that enhance patient care, comfort and experience.

Emily Mundon, Three Wishes Charity Manager, said: “When you run with Team Three Wishes, you’re not just crossing a finish line - you’re helping to transform lives. Your support funds everything from small but meaningful comforts like handheld fans for our patients, to full refurbishments such as our Intensive Care Unit’s family room. Every step you take helps us continue delivering the very best care to our patients and their loved ones.”

Over 1,500 runners have already signed up for this year’s Run Wigan Festival, and its Family Mile offers a brilliant chance for children and adults alike to come together, get active and support their local hospital charity.

Everyone who registers to run for Three Wishes will receive a free charity t‑shirt to wear on the day with pride.
