Dr Gill Field is on the Specialist Register and works as a Consultant in Anaesthetics at WWL. She joined the trust in July 1992.
She has an interest in Ear, Nose and Throat, Paediatric, Dental and Urology anaesthesia and the management of patients with perioperative diabetes. She also provides Local anaesthesia for Ophthalmic Surgery.
Gill has worked in Intensive Care since joining the Trust and has a particular interest in Ventilation techniques for respiratory failure.
Other services provided by the Intensive Care team are as follows:
- Safe transfer of Critically ill patients
- Involvement with resuscitation of patients with trauma and critically ill patients brought into the accident and emergency unit
- Assessment of patients on the ward who are deteriorating
- Supporting the Critical Care Outreach team
Gill is a keen teacher and is involved in medical training both in the Trust and in the North West Region.Other medical interests include critical incident reporting and patient safety in anaesthesia.
