Consultant ENT Surgeon/ Clinical Director for IM&T

Steve has been a consultant ENT surgeon at WWL since September 1999.  He completed his postgraduate training in ENT surgery in the North West Deanery. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) and Edge Hill University. He is also the WWL Trust Clinical Director of Information Management and Technology (IM&T).

Steve provides a comprehensive service covering all aspects of ear, nose and throat surgery. He has special interest in ear surgery (otology) especially complex revision surgery as well as surgery of the salivary glands. He developed a local service for minimally invasive endoscopic treatment for salivary gland stones. This is the only such service in the North West of England and one of only handful in the country. He receives referrals from across the country.

He has been leading and developing the Information Management and Technology agenda for the trust. He is keen to see IT projects working for the benefit of all patients. He takes active role in the trusts management activities as a member of the Business Improvement Group (BIG). He is also the audit lead in ENT surgery.

Steve is a keen teacher and is involved in running several postgraduate courses in ENT surgery. He is a Francophile and he is attempting to learn the French language with difficulty. He is a keen archer and competes in tournaments nationally. He has been selected to Lancashire Archery Association squad.
