Rob is on the Specialist Register as a Consultant Paediatrician. He has worked as a Consultant Paediatrician in Community Child Health at WWL since 1992. He trained in Paediatrics in Newcastle before coming to Wigan and also spent part of his training carrying out nutritional research in Cambridge and the Gambia in West Africa.

Rob’s main interests are in General and Developmental Paediatrics and Child Protection/Safeguarding. He is the Lead for Community Child Health and acts as Designated Doctor for Special Educational Needs for Wigan. 

Rob is the North West regional coordinator for the British Association of Community Child Health and sits on the national council of BACCH.

Rob lectures and teaches regularly in the Trust, contributing to and helping to organise the practical and theory Child Health Surveillance training for FY2s and GP Registrars working in the local hospitals.
