Qualifications: MB Bch BaO, MRCP, DCH

Mark Robinson hails from County Down, in Northern Ireland. He attended Queens University Belfast and obtained MB Bch BaO in 1988. He gained distinctions in physiology, biochemistry and pharmacology.

House jobs were in The Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast; followed by three years of posts in adult medicine where he obtained the MRCP (UK) in 1991. He followed this with a year in pathology before moving into paediatrics.

His initial paediatric posts were in Belfast followed by Specialist Registrar training in Manchester. He obtained the DCH in 1994.

Mark Robinson was appointed consultant paediatrician at WWL in 2001. His interests include diabetes, endocrinology, obesity, growth disorders and emergency paediatrics.

He is a qualified APLS instructor. He publishes and presents regularly at local and international conferences.

Since June 2008 he has been the Clinical Director for Child Health at WWL.
