Qualifications: MBChB (Hons), MPH, FRCPCH (CCT in Neonatology)

Christos Zipitis originates from Cyprus. He graduated from Manchester Medical School with an Honours degree in medicine and gained several awards and prizes throughout his training. In 2008 he completed a Masters degree in Public Health.

He completed his House jobs, SHO (Senior House Officer) and SpR (Specialist Register) posts mainly in the North Western Deanery. He completed subspecialty training in Neonatology and was appointed Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatal Lead at WWL in 2010.

Christos Zipitis is an APLS instructor and also teaches on Evidence Based Medicine Courses. He has an active interest in research and particularly in vitamin D deficiency and its impact on populations. He has a long list of publications, international presentations and acts as a reviewer for many prestigious journals and funding bodies. He is the Departmental Research Lead and is the Trust’s Deputy Clinical Director for Research and Development.
